Perfluoroelastomer (FFKM)
Perfluoroether rubber (FFKM/FFPM) has strong chemical resistance similar to PTFE, and its heat resistance surpasses that of fluororubber,while also possessing the elasticity of rubber. In terms of chemical resistance, it has strong resistance to ketones, ethers,esters, amines, ammonia, acids, bases, fuels, organic solvents, vapors, and strong oxidizing agents (such as excellent corrosion resistance in strong solvents and corrosive liquids such as ethyl acetate and tetrahydrofuran). In terms of heat resistance,certain special perfluoroether rubber products can still maintain good rubber properties at a high temperature of 300 ℃.
Heat resistance
• 232℃ to 300℃ (450°F to 590℉) depending on compound.
Cold flexibility
• -18℃ to -26℃ (0℉ to -15℉).

Fluorocarbon (FKM)
Fluorocarbon (FKM) has excellent resistance to high temperatures, ozone, oxygen, mineral oil, synthetic hydraulic fluids, fuels,aromatics and many organic solvents and chemicals. Low temperature resistance is normally not favorable and for static applications is limited to approximately -26℃ (-15℉) although in certain situations it is suitable down to -40℃ (-40℉). Under dynamic conditions, the lowest service temperature is between -15℃ and -18℃ (5℉ and 0℉). Gas permeability is very low and similar to that of butyl rubber. Special FKM compounds exhibit an improved resistance to acids, fuels, water and steam.
Heat resistance
• Up to 204℃ (400℉) and higher temperatures with shorter life expectancy.
Cold flexibility
• Down to -26℃ (-15℉) (some to -40℃) (-40℉).

Acrylonitrile-Butadiene (NBR)
Nitrile rubber is currently one of the most commonly used rubber materials in O-rings. It is has good mechanical properties, resistance to mineral based lubrication and grease. This characteristic is usually determined by the amount of acrylonitrile it contains. When the ACN content is low, nitrile rubber has low temperature resistance, but the oil resistance of nitrile rubber decreases. On the contrary, as the ACN content continues to increase, the oil resistance of nitrile rubber increases, but at the same time, the low temperature resistance also decreases simultaneously.
Heat resistance
• Up to 100℃ (212℉) with shorter life @ 121℃(250℉).
Cold flexibility
• Depending on individual compound, between -34℃ and -57℃ (-30°F and -70℉).

Tetrafluoroethylene-Propylene(AFLAS®)
This elastomer is a copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene (TFE) and propylene. Its chemical resistance is excellent across a wide range of aggressive media.

Heat resistance
* Up to approximately 232℃ (450℉).
Cold flexibility
* Down to approximately -4℃ (25℉).

Ethylene Propylene Rubber (EPM, EPDM)
EPM is a copolymer of ethylene and propylene. Ethylenepropylene-diene rubber (EPDM) is produced using a third monomer and is
particularly useful when sealing phosphate-ester hydraulic fluids and in brake systems that use fluids having a glycol base.
Heat resistance
• Up to 150℃ (302℉) (max. 204℃ (400℉)) in water and/ or steam).
Cold flexibility
• Down to approximately -57℃ (-70℉).

Silicone Rubber (Q, MQ, VMQ, PVMQ)
The term silicone covers a large group of materials in which vinyl-methyl-silicone (VMQ) is often the central ingredient. Silicone elastomers as a group have relatively low tensile strength, poor tear and wear resistance. However, they have many useful properties as well. Silicones have good heat resistance up to 232℃ (450℉), good cold flexibility down to -59℃ (-75℉) and good ozone and weather resistance as well as good insulating and physiologically neutral properties.
Heat resistance
• Up to approximately 204℃ (400℉) (special compounds up to 232℃ (450℉).
Cold flexibility
• Down to approximately -59℃ to -54℃ (-75℉ to -65℉) with special compounds down to -115℃ (-175℉).
Fluorosilicone (FVMQ)
FVMQ contains trifluoropropyl groups next to the methyl groups. The mechanical and physical properties are very similar to VMQ.
However, FVMQ offers improved fuel and mineral oil resistance but poor hot air resistance when compared with VMQ.

Heat resistance
• Up to 177℃ (350℉) max.
Cold flexibility
• Down to approximately -73℃ (-100℉).
