Cesium iodide (CAS 7789-17-5) Usage
Widely used as scintillation medium for high energy particles and ionizing radiation detectors. Vacuum-deposited CSI (Tl) films were first used for X-ray imaging in photoelectric converters. CSI (TL) scintillator films are widely used in X-ray imaging due to their high scintillation efficiency to X-ray radiation, high spatial resolution and good matching to the spectral sensitive silicon based readout array in advanced digital X-ray images.
