Product Description
Sodium polyacrylate, chemical formula (C3H3NaO2)n, is a new functional polymer material and an important chemical product. The solid product is white or light yellow block or powder, and the liquid product is colorless or light yellow viscous liquid. It is obtained from acrylic acid and its esters through aqueous solution polymerization. Odorless, soluble in aqueous sodium hydroxide solution, precipitated in aqueous solutions such as calcium hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide. It is often used as water treatment agent, brine refining and latex thickening, and can also be used as food thickening and emulsification.

Application
1. Utilizing its viscosifying and thickening properties, the aqueous solution of this product is widely used as water-based adhesives, viscosifiers and thickeners for emulsions, plastics, and rubbers. 2. Used as flocking, waterproofing, printing and dyeing, carpet one-side sizing and non-woven adhesive and tackifier in fabric finishing. 3. Used as a binder and thickener in cosmetics. 4. Utilizing its cohesiveness, it can be used as a scale inhibitor for boiler water treatment and other water treatment, and can inhibit the formation of calcium carbonate, calcium sulfate and other scales. 5. It can also be used as a clarification accelerator for sugar liquid, beverages and tap water sources; a precipitation accelerator for refining salt water in the electrolytic soda-making industry; a protein recovery agent for food industry wastewater, etc. 6. Utilizing its dispersibility, it can be used as papermaking agent, pigment dispersant, pesticide dispersant, etc. Utilizing its adhesiveness, it can be used as a papermaking adhesive, a glue solvent for casting, and a fluorescent film-forming agent for fluorescent lamps and mercury lamps. 7. When used as a food additive, it acts as an electrolyte to interact with protein, which can change the protein structure, enhance the viscoelasticity of food, and improve the protein cohesion in flour; it is used in bread, cake, canned food, ice cream, sauce products, fruit juice, etc. It also has the effects of thickening, dispersing, stabilizing, water retention, and freshness preservation. 8. Utilizing its high water absorption, it can also be used as a raw material for super absorbent resin and as a soil conditioner.
