The working height of the platter is 18mm compared to the 12mm of standard platters, this means a platter mat doesn't have to be used to give the correct VTA and your vinyl can sit directly on the platter (you can of course still use platter mats with the tone arm height adjusted accordingly).
Fitting and set up of the platter is literally a case of lifting off the old platter and placing the new one on.
The high density and greater mass of the acrylic provide increased inertia to achieve a consistent speed, while damping unwanted vibrations by trapping and dissipating the energy. Acrylic has an analogous resonant frequency to vinyl records to aid in the cancellation of undesirable reverberations resulting in a 3-dimensional soundstage with improved bass definition, a richer midrange, and greater signal clarity.
