PRODUCT SPECIFICATION
Goat milk is rich in calcium, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium and selenium . Goat milk contains slightly higher levels of these minerals than cow’s milk. The high selenium content is beneficial since the mineral is a powerful antioxidant . In addition, it is well established that high calcium intake is important for bone formation and the prevention of various pathological conditions.
Goat milk is also rich in vitamins B1, B2, B3, B5, B6 and B8 . Goat milk is often easier to digest than cow milk. This is due to its composition and its levels of proteins and fats:
- Goat milk is richer in short-chain fatty acids than cow milk
- It has a higher percentage of small fat globules
- Its medium-chain triglyceride content is higher
- Its percentage of casein alpha s1 and s2 proteins is lower than in cow milk
- Its casein micelles are smaller
These factors make goat milk easier to digest than cow milk.
