The lithium battery pack uses CATL cells with a 3-year warranty. The standard charger can be fully charged in 4 hours, while the fast charger can be fully charged in 2 hours.
Advantages of lithium batteries
LONGER LIFESPAN
Li-ion batteries have a 3000+ lifecycle vs. 500-1000 for lead acid. Li-ion lasts longer, resulting in a longer lifespan for Li-ion products. Cycles are counted in % charge instead of every charge. 10% charge = 1/10 cycle for Li-ion, but 1 cycle for lead acid.
OPPORTUNITY CHARGING
Lead acid batteries require a full 8-12 hour charge cycle for chemistry balance, while LI-Ion batteries prefer opportunity charging. They can charge for 10 minutes during a lunch break, which allows for a unique shift strategy and reduces overall Ah in the truck.
LIGHTER WEIGHT
Lithium-ion batteries offer high power density, resulting in their small and light form. They are 1/3 the weight of lead-acid batteries. This enables GRACE to develop trucks with better ergonomics, larger legroom, and improved performance due to the reduced size and weight of the batteries.
HIGHER EFFICIENCY
Most lithium-ion batteries are 95 percent efficient or more, meaning that 95 percent or more of the energy stored in a lithium-ion battery is actually able to be used. Conversely, lead acid batteries see efficiencies closer to 80 to 85 percent.
FASTER CHARGING
Higher efficiency batteries charge faster, improved efficiency means a higher effective battery capacity. Lithium batteries takes 2-3 hours to charge while lead-acid needs 8 hours. Lithium batteries high effective capacity reduces downtime in warehouse duties.
MORE ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY
