Properties and application:
Yttrium fluoride is a chemical with the formula YF3 that is a grayish white powder or crystal at room temperature.
White powder, density 4.01, melting point 1152 ℃. The boiling point of 2230 ℃. Insoluble in water, insoluble in hydrochloric acid, nitric acid and sulfuric acid, but soluble in perchloric acid. Hygroscopic in air, more stable.
Usage
Ytterbium Fluoride is applied to numerous fiber amplifier and fiber optic technologies, High purity grades are widely applied as a doping agent for garnet crystals in lasers a important colourant in glasses and porcelain enamel glazes.
