Electrolytic flotation machine, also known as electric flocculation flotation machine. The principle of an electrolytic air flotation machine is to add a direct current electric field to the electrolyte solution. Under the action of the direct current electric field, the electrolyte undergoes an oxidation reaction at the anode or accompanied by an oxygen evolution reaction: a reduction reaction occurs at the cathode and accompanied by a hydrogen evolution reaction. The micro bubbles generated by hydrogen and oxygen generate air flotation, which adheres solid particles and colloidal substances in the wastewater and rises to the water surface for separation using the principle of specific gravity.
If aluminum and iron electrodes are selected as anodes, aluminum and iron ions dissolve into water through the oxidation of aluminum and iron electrodes. This is because aluminum and iron ions form hydrolytic polymers in the solution, forming a double layer compression effect on the stable colloid in the solution. The pollutants in the water undergo strong flocculation and polymerization, forming flocs that float and separate under the action of micro gas. The electrolytic air flotation machine, along with the air flotation effect, is also accompanied by anodic oxidation and Shenfenton effect, which is a significant advantage of the electrolytic air flotation machine compared to traditional air flotation machines.
