Besides the main components, chromium and iron also contain impurities such as carbon, silicon, sulfur and phosphorus. Ferrochrome contains 55% to 75% chromium, which is divided into high carbon (4% to 10%C), medium carbon (0.5% to 4%C), low carbon (>0.15% to
0.5%C) and micro carbon (less than 0.15%C) ferrochrome according to carbon content. High carbon ferrochrome is also known as
carbon ferrochrome, and medium, low and micro carbon ferrochrome is also called refining ferrochrome. A high carbon ferrochrome
produced by a chromium iron ratio with low chromium iron ratio, containing Cr 50% to 55% is called furnace grade chromium iron,
and the nitrogen containing chromium iron containing N2% to 10% is used as a nitrogen alloy agent, also known as nitrided
ferrochrome.
