Substrates for Professional Horticulture

Peat-based substrate is a type of growing medium commonly used in horticulture and hydroponics. It is made from partially decomposed organic matter, mostly Sphagnum peat moss, that has accumulated over thousands of years in peat bogs.

The peat-based substrate provides physical structure, water-holding capacity, and some nutrient content to plants grown in hydroponic systems or container gardens. The peat provides a natural source of organic matter and helps to regulate the pH level of the growing medium, making it ideal for a wide range of plants.

Peat-based substrates are often mixed with other ingredients, such as perlite, vermiculite, sand, limestone, or fertilizers, to improve its physical properties, aeration, drainage and nutrient content. The combination of peat and other materials helps to create a well-draining and nutrient-rich individual growing medium that is suitable for the growth of a wide range of plants, including vegetables, herbs, flowers, and ornamental plants. It can be easily customised to meet the specific needs of individual crops.

All our substrates are made by fully automatic, computer controlled mixing lines which ensures stable and high quality production. Advanced mixing lines enables us to mix different categories of peat with a wide range of additives (perlite, clay, sand, wetting agent, NPK 14:16:18 or NPK 12:14:24 starter fertilizers, micro nutrients, fully organic and long term fertilizers). Only highest quality additives are being used in all products.

Type of product: BASE SUBSTRATES (WITHOUT FERTILIZERS)

Base substrates without fertilizers for individual growing mixes and soil improvement gives complete fertilizer control to grower. The pH is adjusted with ground limestone by computer controlled mixing lines. Calcitic and dolomitic limestone adjusts pH, supplies essential plant nutrients: Ca and Mg. Can be used for organic farming!

Type of product: SEEDING & PROPAGATION MIXES

Our seeding / propagation substrates are available from even 3 types of raw: 100% white (light-brown) peat moss, 100% black (dark-brown) peat moss or 50/50 mixes (50% black+50% white). Available in Extra-Fine or Medium screening sizes. All seeding / propagation substrates already includes starter NPK (14:16:18) fertilizers as well as wetting agent. Substrates with perlite are also available!

Type of product: PROFESSIONAL POTTING SUBSTRATES

Individual substrate according to grower needs can also be done by mixing different types of peat moss with perlite, clay, sand, vermiculite, different NPK  starter or long term fertilisers, organic fertilisers and/or other additives at client’s recipe. Any product can be packed to big bales (from 5000 to 6500L) or smaller professional bags of 70, 225 and 250L as well as retail bags: 5L, 10L, 20, 45/50, 70/80, 125/150 and 225/250L bags.

Type of product: PEAT MOSS FOR BLUEBERRIES (pH 3.5-4.5)

Increases organic matter content in the soil, lower pH, improves air-filled porosity (AFP), water and nutrient holding capacity. These mixes are made from selected white peat moss raw only without any other additives. Can be used in organic farming!

Type of product: PEAT FOR MUSHROOM CASING LAYER (pH 7.0-7.5)

Within years of supplying professionals in mushroom industry, we have made our own special mix for a casing layer. It is made from selected high quality Baltic Sphagnum dark peat moss, specially screened for this purpose and mixed by computer controlled mixing line. It gives: a) right structure, b) good moisture holding ability and c) a constant supply of the same highest quality mix for you.

Type of product: MEDICAL CANNABIS GROWING MEDIA

The classic peat-and-perlite growing medium made exclusively with superior ingredients and stringent quality-control specifications. Includes selected quality peat moss, coarse grade perlite, wetting agent and starter fertilizer charge.

Type of product: Animal Bedding / Peat Bedding for Poultry and Livestock

Natural light-brown peat moss has a low pH, fast moisture absorbing ability and make a soft bed effect for animals. It is easy to remove and cheap compered to other alternatives such as wood pellets. Cost effective – Safe to use – Easily Stored – Maintain a healthy environment.
