Working principle:
3D Suspension Borehole Logging System is a method for determining the wave velocity of the formation where the hole is located by using the detector placed in the borehole to receive the S-wave signal from the source to the first arrival time.

In the borehole, the well fluid is used as the coupling agent, and the electromagnetic shock source is applied to the borehole wall to exert an instantaneous impact force. Two types of particle vibrations are generated in the borehole formation. One is that the particle vibration direction is perpendicular to the borehole wall. , propagating along the direction of the well wall, called S wave (shear wave, shear wave); the other is that the particle vibration direction and the propagation direction are the same as P wave (compression wave, longitudinal wave).

The detector receives the vibration signal of the S wave and converts it into an electrical signal, and then transmits it to the computer. After the computer processes the signal, the computer uses two cross-correlation analysis methods to automatically calculate the time difference between the propagation of the S wave between the two detectors, thereby calculating The speed of S wave propagation between the two passes.
