A:Evaporative Air Coolers cool much differently than Portable Air
Conditioners. Air Coolers use the natural process of evaporation to cool down air versus air conditioning which requires a
compressor and cooling refrigerant. They are more comparable to a fan, and should not be expected to cool like an A/C. Air Coolers also work best in dry climates with humidity that is below 50-60%, and it is required that windows be open for cross-ventilation so that the warm and cool air can circulate.
