Product Analysis
Soya grains undergo a transformation process called trituration resulting in a co-product called meal. This meal is highly concentrated in nutriments, in particular in protein. This characteristic makes this oily meal one of the principal protein ingredients in animal feed (pigs, poultry…) around the world.
Général Afitex mainly exports two high demand varieties, from Brazil to Western Africa: soybean meal with gross protein contents of 46% or 48%.
Soybean meal can be sold in the form of pellets or flour, depending on the manufacturing process of the trituration factory. The quality of the soybean meal is generally expressed in “Profat” corresponding to the gross protein level combined with the proportion of fat.
