The role of Cr in steel is to improve hardenability, wear resistance, and thermal strength. The role of Mo in steel can be summarized as improving hardenability, enhancing thermal strength, preventing annealing brittleness, increasing residual magnetism and coercivity, improving corrosion resistance in certain media, and preventing pitting tendency. Therefore, the main characteristics of 30crmo are brought by CrMo element. For example, 30crmoa steel plate has high strength and toughness, high hardenability, and sufficient high-temperature strength below 500 ℃.
