The traditional flow-through system needs lots of water to grow fish , so the fish farm must be near the river / lake or sea , and it pumps water to the fish tanks directly. There is a significant drawback : This can not prevent pathogens from entering the aquaculture pools, which may lead to fish diseases and losses .

If we add some RAS equipment to this flow-through system , then it will solve the problem , and it has many advantages, such as low construction cost , easy to manage , low running cost and so on .

Part B : about our flow-through system

We will not use the raw water for growing fish directly , we need to filter the raw water and sterilize it with UV sterilizers, as shown in the design diagram below .

Raising fish in this way , the fish can grow healthily , and it is easy to manage .
