Product Description
Bafang introduces the new M510 mid-engine as the successor to the proven M500 for robust and demanding applications. As one of the world's leading manufacturers of e-bike drive systems, Bafang is committed to providing the best motor and system solutions for every category - and this continues its success with the new M510 in the powerful mid-mounted motor category.
The strong torque of 95 Nm is the same as that of the M500, but the overall torque curve of the M510 is higher than that of the predecessor model. This is evident at the maximum possible support/maximum possible support of up to 120 rpm. To further improve the efficiency of the performance improvement, the motor, segmented stator has been modified, and the magnesium casing has been designed, reducing the overall weight of the M510 by a full 500 grams (18%) to 2.9 kg (weight M500 = 3.4 kg) .
Soft start, strong acceleration
In addition, the software for startup characteristics has been optimized for smoother and more controlled startup. These characteristics allow better access to short, steep curves or steep slopes. With excellent top performance, the acceleration is powerful and as usual!
nimble and sensitive
Because it is on steep climbs or tight corners that it is important that the motor releases the right power with precise precision. Too much power can cause tires to slip, while too little power can lead to erratic handling. Thanks to the high sensitivity of the torque sensor, the M510 can absorb the right amount of power and control the right support according to the rider's pedaling force. With this performance range, the M510 mid-engine is ideal for performance-oriented use, whether in the bike park or when conquering technically demanding uphill passes!
In addition to the lighter construction, the mid-engine comes with improved water resistance, a 12V light module and integrated connections, among others. Additionally, the M510 is chain guard compatible, has the same motor mounts as the M500/M410, and offers a hidden speed sensor mounting option.
The M510 motor is compatible with most products in the Bafang product portfolio.

The Bafang M510 is a revised version of the predecessor M500 we covered here last year. Weight has been reduced by 18%, while power output has been increased by another 20%.
