Molecular (wiped film) distillation is the best thermal separation machine for heat-sensitive material because it is the gentlest type, causing the least amount of thermal degradation of product. It is a process of separation, purification and concentration of natural products, complex and thermally sensitive molecules. M3 molecular distillation units are wildly used for purification of oils, such as cannabis/hemp oil, garlic oil, cod liver oil in chemical and pharmaceutical industries.
M3 molecular distillation units have three series (glassware, stainless steel or hybrid) with different throughput for your choices, from 0.5kg/hr up to 250kg/hr. In addition to the single stage systems, we also offer multi-stage systems to improve your working efficiency.
The whole molecular distillation system includes supporting chillers, heaters, vacuum pumps and all accessories. Some popular units are in stock at our USA warehouse.
Features:
1. The glass parts are made of high borosilicate 3.3 material, with excellent visibility;
2. The magnetic coupling seal can maintain a higher vacuum degree to ensure the evaporation effect;
3. Scraper film forming design, contacting material part take stainless steel 316L+PTFE;
4. The sealing ring is made of fluorine rubber or tetrafluoroethylene, suitable for different material applications;
5. The main evaporator have been designed with full jacket and full insulation to ensure material fluidity;
6. Multi-plan structure configuration to guarantee different material and different process requirements;
Working Principle:
Feed material is delivered from a feed flask into the main jacketed evaporator, having
heating frompei the jacket, and a diagonally slotted wiper mechanism forcing liquid around
and downward in a thin film on the inside. In the center of the body is a closely positioned
internal condenser, providing a short path for vapor molecules traveling from the heated
surface to the condenser surface. During the journey downward, lighter (lower boiling point)
fractions of the liquid begin to vaporize, move to the internal condenser and condense, falling
down as a liquid into a well that captures and separates the distilled liquid which flows into
the Distillate receiving flask. Heavier residue material (like chlorophyll, salts, sugars, heavy
wax) does not evaporate and instead travels the length of the main evaporator body and
flows into the Residue receiving flask.
