room's
Developed by former professional shoemakers, our
"room's"
slippers were designed with
"walking"
in mind.
Slippers were developed in Japan in the late Edo period (around 1868) and are a lifestyle culture unique to the country, with a long history of over 100 years.
Changing from shoes to slippers in the entryway has the great benefit of keeping your home free from outside dirt and viruses.
However, we were surprised to find that, despite the slipper's long history, slippers had not been designed with a focus on
"walking"
around the home. We then succeeded in developing a product that fits modern lifestyles.
Made with shoe manufacturing methods, our slippers are easy to put on and prevent accidental slip-off.
A toe tip resin sheet protects your feet from shocks.
Raised toes help to prevent stumbles and falls.
Elastic EVA foam on the heels provides a lightweight, comfortable fit.
The soles are made with a combination of sound-dampening polyester suede and safe non-slip material.
Our
"room's"
slippers, which were created in 2015 by fusing old Japanese lifestyle culture with modern lifestyle needs, have won admirers all over the world. In addition to the Japanese GOOD DESIGN Award, the slippers have also won the iF Design Award, one of the world's three most prestigious design awards.
