Ehime prefecture was known as a production center of Iyo Japanese Paper for a long time. Paper Tatami Mat has been produced using such traditional technique of Iyo Japanese Paper. Paper Tatami Mat is made by knitting the pipe form of Japanese paper one by one like making normal Tatami Mat, which is made in rush. The care method of Paper Tatami Mat is mostly same as that of normal Tatami Mat. Since the raw material is paper, the insects such as ticks are hardly live in it and it is most suitable for allergy measures. In addition, it is said that the color of Paper Tatami Mat seldom fades away.

<Precautions>

# Although Paper Tatami Mat takes waterproofing process, when water is spilled out on the mat, please try to wipe it off by dry cloth as soon as possible.

How to clean the mat:

# The surface of the tatami mat is produced through soil resistant finishing. But when the liquid such as soy sauce or coffee was poured, please wipe it up immediately (within 2-3 min.) with a dry cloth. Please refrain from rubbing it strongly with a damp cloth. If the time passes for a long time, the dirt penetrates into the mat and it will be hard to remove it and your quick procedure is preferred.

# If the dirt contains oil, wipe it off with a cloth having diluted neutral detergent and squeezed hard. Please do not rub it strongly.

# Please wipe the surface of the tatami mat off lightly with a cloth having diluted neutral detergent and squeezed hard by following the stitch of tatami once a month.

How to prevent dents and scratches:

How to protect from mold, mite and moisture:

# The Japanese paper tatami does’t get sun-burn and so there is no worry for color changing. If you sometimes dry it by exposing to the sun, it makes the mat refreshed.

# Please refrain from rubbing the mat surface strongly by a wet cloth as it may give a damage to it.

# Please do not wash the tatami mat by a laundry machine even if it gets dirty.
