Product Description
India Pale Ale (IPA) is a generally very hoppy beer that falls into the broader category of Pale Ale. This style was widespread in England as early as 1815 and its name derives from the fact that these beers were mainly intended for export to India for consumption by English subjects. The use of large quantities of hops, rich in antioxidant acid substances, allowed the drinks to be stored for the long journey. It is a high fermentation craft beer, traditionally brewed with English malt, hops and yeasts. The aroma is herbaceous and fruity with a strong bitterness balanced by the sweetness of the malts. Unlike the classic IPA, the American version has a slightly higher alcohol content and a more pronounced hopping, evident both in terms of bitterness and aroma, thanks to the use of new varieties of hops grown in America.
