QVB500660 Power Steering Pump Fit for Land Rover Discovery 3 2005-2009
The power steering pump is driven by the engine to convert the low-pressure oil in the tank into high-pressure oil and deliver it to the steering control valve.
1. The power steering pump is the power source of the hydraulic power steering system. It uses the engine as the transmission medium to convert the mechanical energy into hydraulic energy. The steering gear converts the hydraulic energy into mechanical energy through the hydraulic oil output from the oil pump, thereby reducing the driver's operation strength and improve the maneuverability of the vehicle;
2. Control the internal pressure of the power steering pipeline through the pressure safety valve to ensure the safety of the steering system;
3. Control the flow of the steering system through the flow control valve to ensure the driver's steering feel when the vehicle is driving at high speed.
(1) Reducing the steering force on the steering wheel, especially in the in-situ steering and low-speed large-angle steering to reduce the steering force;
(2) Improved steering sensitivity. Starting from the contradiction between the light steering and the steering sensitivity, the power steering solves the problem of steering lightness, so that the steering gear design can select a more suitable steering gear according to the different requirements of the vehicle layout. The speed ratio improves the sensitivity of the steering system and allows for a more reasonable selection of the number of turns of the steering wheel. This is more obvious for cars that are often driven on roads in mountainous areas (especially on more sharp bends);
(3) reducing the impact of ground recoil on the steering wheel;
(4) In the case of a wheel blasting, the sudden steering of the wheel can be better prevented, thereby improving safety;
(5) The allowable load of the steering wheel is large, and the degree of freedom of the overall arrangement can be increased.
