About the Project

Today we’re going to show you a project case with Doorwin Wood+ Tilt & Turn Windows. These windows use a solid red oak with an extra aluminum exterior cladding, and Germany-origin brand Siegenia hardware system, and the highlight is, our remote-control built-in shutters, this function makes you remotely and instantly change your room’s sunlight or privacy things.

This project is located in Windsor, Canada. Windsor has a semi-continental climate, with a warm, humid summer and a cold winter. And as a private home, the client's main requirement was to match the original decor of the house as closely as possible while maintaining energy efficiency and insulation functions of thermal and sound. Working closely with the client, we were able to infuse elements of function and style into this house.

Double pane, Low-E, argon gas filled, tempered glass is our standard option, and it will undoubtedly meet the local CSA energy-efficiency standard, not to mention that frames made out of solid woods are the best insulation material. For effortless privacy control, we provided remote control built-in shutters, these shutters are a popular choice for interior shutters.

In this project, we chose red oak wood as the main profile for the windows. Since our client's house has a red roof and staircase, so we painted the windows’ exterior red.

But the disadvantages are also obvious, solid wood is more prone to damage and corrosion, requiring higher maintenance costs, so we clad the exterior face of the frame with aluminum, creating a permanent weather-resistant surface.

Weep Holes
