The HBsAg/HBsAb/HBeAg/HBeAb/HBcAb 5 in 1 HBV Combo Test is a qualitative membrane device based immunoassay for the detection of hepatitis b virus including HBsAg , HBsAb , HBeAg , HBeAb and HBcAb in whole blood/serum/plasma .
For HBsAg HBsAg test is a double antibody sandwich immunoassay. Colloidal gold conjugated hepatitis b virus surface antibody complexes are dry-immobilized in the test device . When the sample is added , it migrates by capillary diffusion through the strip rehydrating the gold conjugate complexes . If present , HBsAg will react with the gold conjugate complexes forming particles . These particles will continue to migrate along the strip until the test line (T) where they are captured by hepatitis b virus surface antibody immobilized there and a visible red line appears . If there is no HBsAg in sample , no red line will appear in the test line (T) . The gold conjugate complexes will continue to migrate alone until they are captured in the control line (C) by immobilized goat anti-mouse IgG antibody aggregating a red line , which indicates the validity of the test.

Principle And Reference Values
If the specimen contains adenovirus antigen , a colored line will appear in the test line region indicating a positive result. If the specimen does not contain adenovirus antigen , a colored line will not appear in this region indicating a negative result. To serve as a procedural control , a colored line will always appear at the control line region indicating that proper volume ofspecimen has been added and membrane wicking has occurred.
