Antique Solid Pillar Portico Mantel Gilt Polished Brass Mechanical Column Desk Clock Open Escapement 4 Beveled Glass Panels

It is an antique  mantle clock .  The gilt brass clock case measures 12 inches or 31cm high, and is 23 3/5 inches or 23.6cm deep.  The clock has a gilt brass case with 4 rectangular beveled glass panels.  The front and back panels are hinged and open so that you have access to the dial and movement. The clock has a porcelain dial with black Roman numbers and black metal hands, an open escapement design. The dial is decorated with nice pictures- Angle flying among the flowers.  There are  key winds on the bottom of the dial for adjusting the time faster or slower.    The clock is eight day time and strike.  This means the clock will run for eight days on a full winding, and will count and strike the half hours on the gong at the back of the movement.  The dial is in good very condition with only a couple small hairlines towards the bottom.  The clock is running but needs some adjusting to keep proper time.  Please see the many photographs as they are an important part of the description.
