Canadian Hard Maple Timber is a smart, off-white and characterful wood, suited to an array of practical and decorative uses. The wood is defined by its hardwearing qualities and attractive finish with a hard yet fine texture and straight grain pattern.
Canadian Hard Maple is ideal for high traffic and frequently used areas thanks to its high strength, hardness and resistance to abrasion. Responds well to glues and finishes and is easy to work with, however, due to the high density of the timber, it could require a little more work compared with other timber options. May need a staining conditioner to create a consistent colour.
Name: Acer saccharum
Origin: Canada
Uses: Flooring, kitchen worktops, shop fitting, panelling, furniture, cabinets, table tops, interior joinery, doors, handrails, bannisters, mouldings, panelings.
