Direct contact method can be used for ultrasonic inspection of titanium alloy bars. Ultrasonic inspection, metallographic analysis and hardness test are used to study the corresponding relationship between waveform characteristics and defect morphology of different types of metallurgical secondary defects. By observing the static and dynamic waveforms at different positions of metallurgical defects and combining with the microstructure characteristics, the corresponding relationship between the microscopic morphology of metallurgical defects and the detection waveform was established.
