20% Aescin Aesculus Hippocastanum Horse Chestnut Extract

Deciduous trees, up to 25m. Leaves palmatate opposite; Leaflets 5 -- 7, oblong or oblong ovate, 9 -- 16cm long, 3 -- 5.5cm wide, apex acuminate, base cuneate, margin serrate, lateral veins 13 -- 17 pairs, petiole; Total petiole length. Panicle large; Calyx tubular; Petals 4, white, clawed; Stamens 6, filaments unequal; Ovary superior. Capsule subglobose, tip flat, brownish yellow, there are small projections, 3 lobes when ripe, seeds subglobose. Flowering in May ~ July, fruiting in August ~ September.

Aescin is a three-terpene compounds, which including Aescin A, B, C, D. and Aescin A and Aescin B are known as escin beta-escin, while Aescin C and Aescin D are called alpha-escin. Alpha-escin and beta-escin are two isomers of Aescin. Although two melting point, optical rotation, hemolytic index and water solubility of two Aescin are not the same, they are not much different effect.
