Niobium titanium alloy is an alloy composed of niobium and titanium. Industrial production of niobium titanium alloy, titanium content is generally 20% ~ 60% (mass), the most typical niobium titanium alloy contains 66% titanium [about 50% (mass)]. They are important alloy superconducting materials, whose superconducting transition temperature is 8 ~ 10K. The superconducting properties can be further improved by adding other elements. Titanium exists as a solid solution in the alloy. Alloy ingots were made by mixing powder sintering and the electrodes composed of niobium and titanium sheets were melted several times by vacuum consumable arc furnace or electron beam.
